Viper Productions is an independent film and creative media company based in Liverpool, UK, founded in 2019 by Award-winning actor Karl Hughes. We specialise in inclusive storytelling, educational workshops, and community-led arts programmes that reflect real voices and open doors into the creative industries.
About Our Founder
Karl Hughes began acting at the age of five, starting in amateur theatre and building a career that now spans over 70+ professional projects. He has starred in award-winning short films — including Coming Back, which earned him ‘Best Actor’ recognition — and has worked across TV, streaming, and film, reaching final casting rounds for major platforms like BBC, ITV, Netflix, Disney Channel, Amazon, and Warner Bros.
His feature film credits include 24 Little Hours, The Monster Beneath Us, Three Blind Mice, and Snake Hotel, among others.
Our Mission: Inclusion Through Creativity
At Viper Productions, our mission is clear: to make the creative arts industry more inclusive and accessible — regardless of race, gender, ability, or background. We champion neurodiverse, disabled, and underrepresented talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Through partnerships with drama schools, agents, charities, CIC's, and local community organisations, we support artists across the North West.
Our Work
Since 2020, we have completed:
- 12+ short films and co-produced a feature film
- 6 red carpet charity film Q&A screenings attended by over 500 people
- Taught over 1,000 people with our Film & TV workshops
- Produced 60+ charity videos
- A charity album (Vibe Nation) in partnership with The Vibe Liverpool CIC
- A range of inclusive projects with SEND schools, charities, and community groups
- Comic Book, Picture Book, and Creative Arts for All programmes
- Acting workshops and certified courses in Film & TV, Photography, and Make-Up
- Work experience placements for supported interns across the region
For every Comic or Picture Book project, we donate £2,000 to the charity or CIC we partner with — using creativity to give back and build futures.
Current Projects
We are currently preparing for a Red Carpet Premiere at The Plaza Community Cinema (Crosby), in collaboration with The Vibe Liverpool CIC, to celebrate the launch of our latest 2024-2025 projects.
We currently have two Documentaries in our slate and three Feature Films.
